Abstract
Especially for this edition of the Festival, composer and pianist Philipp Rüttgers has created three new works, he will perform with his fellow musicians and two dancers Miri Lee and Edward Lloyd from the jazz and improvisation scene.
Art (as) Care comes to life through the connection between artists and audience. Rather than placing the artists at the centre, each composition experiments with the space and the arrangement to create different experiences for the audience. The audience can use the space to move around during the performances, and. We will experiment with visual and auditory cues. As a result, the audience gets a different sense of listening and watching.
The final piece has been created especially for participants in the music or dance workshops. It enables people without a background in the theatrical arts to experience what it is like to prepare and take part in a performance.
Speciaal voor deze editie van het Festival maakte componist en pianist Philipp Rüttgers drie nieuwe werken. Hij voert ze uit met zijn medemusici en dansers uit de jazz- en improvisatiescene.
Kunst (als) Zorg komt hier tot leven in de verbinding tussen artiest en publiek. Niet de artiest staat centraal, maar het experiment met de ruimte en het arrangement. Dit creëert nieuwe ervaringen voor het publiek. Deelnemers krijgen de ruimte om zich tijdens de voorstellingen te verplaatsen, in experimenten met visuele en auditieve prompts. Luisteren en kijken nemen nieuwe vormen aan.
Het laatste stuk is speciaal gemaakt voor de deelnemers van de muziek- of dansworkshops. Mensen zonder achtergrond in de podiumkunsten kunnen meemaken wat het is om een voorstelling voor te bereiden en uit te voeren.
About the makers:
The musicians and dancers/ choreographers are well known in the cross-over between jazz and contemporary music. They all work with improvised music and dance. They have worked together in different interdisciplinary settings.
Philipp Rüttgers is pianist, plays the keys, and is composer, arrangeur and art-director of this edition of the Festival. Oene van Geel can do everything with his viola, same as Luca Warmer with her voice. River Adomeit plays the double bass, and Remco Menting hits the drums and percussion. Miri Lee and Edward Loyd are dancers and choreographers.

De musici en de dansers/ choreografen zijn allemaal bekende namen in de cross-over tussen jazz en hedendaagse muziek, en werken allen met geïmproviseerde muziek en dans. Zij werken in vele interdisciplinaire projecten.
Philipp Rütggers is pianist, toetsenist, componist en arrangeur, en is de componist en artistiek leider van deze editie van het Festival. Oene van Geel is virtuoos op de altviool, en Luca Warmer een alles-kunner met haar stem. River Adomeit bespeelt de contrabas met finesse, en Remco Menting neemt de drums en percussie onder handen. Miri Lee en Edward Lloyd zijn de dansers en choreografen.
