Imprography explores the intersection of spontaneous movement and spatial awareness. In this workshop, participants share the fundamental principles of real-time composition, learning to write their own breath and movement. This connects to Art (as) Care by treating the creative process as a form of communal attention and mindfulness. We practice deep observation and responsive movement to cultivate physical agency. As the session considers participants for the upcoming performance, it serves as a laboratory for building trust and collective resonance. Through this shared somatic journey, we discover how movement can be a tool for self-care and social connection, honoring the unique rhythm of every body.
Expect a dynamic indoor session. You will respond to words, move, listen, and interact. Participants embody physical imagery, engaging in spontaneous movement dialogues that expand like a rhizome. In a supportive environment, you will explore physical intuition and collaborate in real-time with live musicians.
We are thrilled to integrate the workshop participants into the upcoming performance. For those who wish to join us on stage, we will ensure this session provides both inspirational movement materials and a solid foundation of care.
Lee and Lloyd are key performers and choreographers of Amsterdam-based Collectief Imprography, specializing in real-time composition. Lee’s practice of Imprography bridges movement and spatial writing. Within Art (as) Care, they view improvisation as a radical act of listening to the self, environment, and others. Lee leads Co-Sessions for professionals, and the IMDL (Improvised Music Dance Lab) Intercity platform. Their work practices artistic care by fostering inclusive spaces where every contribution is valued. By inviting participants into intuitive immersion, they transform the performance space into a site of mutual support and shared connection.
